Millet Flakes

Made some porridge of millet flakes yesterday. The taste was not really nice despite the fact that I mixed in loads of honey, lemon juice and apple-pieces. In one on my cookbooks it says that products made from millet - like millet flakes - quickly become rancid. It has something to do with their fat content but might explain the unpleasant taste. Will try the normal millet grains next time.
